What I am to be, I am now becoming. -Benjamin Franklin
As I enter my 9th year of teaching, I am very excited to be WTJ's STEAM coach! A native of the Atlanta area, I am a graduate of Furman University where I received both my bachelor’s in elementary education and master’s in early childhood education.
I love challenging children at this time of their lives! As teacher at an International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP school, I strive to follow the IB mission and philosophy in every element of my teaching. I am excited to integrate STEAM into our IB-PYP program to help our students become life long learners. I strongly believe that in order for this to happen, your child’s education must be a team effort between you, your child, and me. Therefore, I welcome and encourage you to be an active participant in your child’s learning and please feel free to contact me at any time!
The International Baccalaureate Mission Statement The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
